Challenge #4 - Let it all Hang out...

I absolutely loved the little beads that came in the August kit and was inspired to hang them off of some clear buttons on one of my pages. The result is fun and cute! Something I definitely want to try again! My challenge for you is to give this technique a try and hang or dangle something on your page! Have fun!

Challenge #3 - Simple Shapes

I was so inspired by the exclusive die cuts that were included in the kit this month that I wanted to do a layout entirely around them… This was what I came up with. With so many different shape options available with punches and scissors etc the options are endless. I had fun playing with this idea. I was so into it I even scallop punched my picture… which is totally out of character for me, I am on the straight and narrow always. It was so nice to step out of my comfort zone…

So my challenge to you is step out of your comfort zone and be inspired by shapes!!

Challenge #2 - Be EDGY

Happy August everyone!  Hope you are finding some great ways to beat the heat!

For this week's challenge, I want to see you use all kinds of different edges on your paper.  For my example below, I used the Sassafras Lass edges, I also hand cut some curved lines and used a punch on one of the other edges.

So get out those punches or deco scissors or use some pre-cut shaped edged papers and lets see some funky edges on your page.  Minimum 2 different edges is needed to complete the challenge.

Whew!! & Challenge #1

Okay...so hopefully ya'll don't think I have been neglecting you.  :)  (this is Jenn btw)  My corporate office decided to ban all blog hosting sites so I can no longer sneak on at work and post challenges or upload photos or heck..even read the darned things!!  Then to make matters worse...my home internet took a dive and I finally just got it up and running.  SOOOOO....if you sent in your challenge layouts by the deadline...dont worry...you WERE entered into the drawing.  I did just post the layouts in the photo album as well.  So I'm sorry for any heartache this might have caused any of you as I'm sure you were missing me so.  *snort*  :)

So with that...I'm going to go ahead and issue a little challenge and I just thought of it so I don't even have a layout done yet.  But I WILL...so then you'll just have to check back later.  :)  So my challenge to you is to use the word BECAUSE as your title...somewhere in there...either just that one word or within a cluster...but I must be able to see it stand out on your layout!!

Canceled USPS stamps - we got a huge bag of canceled stamps on ebay.  These are a
really fun addition to the slight travel theme of this kit. If you are concerned some of the
stamps are acid free and some are not so you need to check each stamp or just plan on
layering them on acid free cardstocks.

Challenge #4 - Round & Round

Let's face it . . . sometimes we'll be working on a page and it's just NOT coming together how we want it to. The overall design is good, but for whatever reason it feels flat, . . . lifeless. When I run into this problem I like to try adding a circle element somewhere my page! Circles add energy, they soften edges and they help call attention to details as our eye follows their curve. For this weeks' challenge I want you to use a circle element somewhere on your page. I can't wait to see your projects!  Jana

Challenge #3 - Enhance your Paper!

I absolutely love the patterned paper this month, especially this one that had the white streak like marks on it.  As soon as I saw it I instantly knew it would be perfect to use the white streaks for flower stems.  I grabbed a flower stamp some white craft ink and absolutely LOVED the effect...  So I challenge you to take you patterned paper one step further and embellish it... make it something more!!
