Vivian was so clever...she combined the first 2 challenges into this one layout!! The word LOVE is in the journaling and her flower is hanging off the edge! Way to use your thinker Vivian!!
Journalling : I know that I am not a perfect mother, but I am positive you will know you are LOVED.
Supplies : CS - Bazzill & DCWV (brown), PP - BoBunny, Rubons - Basic Grey, Flowers - Petaloo, Buttons & Fibers - misc, Font - 1942 Report.
Let's get this month's challenges going by celebrating with words... yes, with words! This week's challenge I want to see you use the word "LOVE".
For this challenge I decided to really try and step out of my box a bit. I am a self proclaimed traditional scrapper with a twist...but, one thing that I just have never really been able to wrap myself around is hanging stuff off my pages. Lately, I have seen some really cool layouts that go beyond that 12x12 standard that I have grown to depend on. So my challenge to you this week is to take that layout right off the page...go on...I know you can do it! It was really tough for me with this first attempt, but I have to say I was really pleased with it. So, let me see what you can do...off the page!
Here Elizabeth used the December kit AND did some hybrid on the picture...very cool!
Use your scraps...
This month I was doing this and that and before I noticed it I had run out of most of my PP for my blog challenge assignment... so scrambling to come up with something, or an idea... I USED MY SCRAPS... this just goes to show that you really can come up with a layout using very little supplies and just using up every last piece of paper and embellishment goodness that comes in our fantastic Sweet Pea Scraps Kits!!!
This is a picture of my nephew, Liam. The journaling reads "Liam- you have such a perfect smile. I love this pic of you, it is like you knew to pose this way. You are very photogenic and it makes me want to scrapbook every picture of you! Spring 2007"
I used scraps of paper as well as odds and ends of ribbon that I had- and a few leftover rub ons too.
Journaling (in the main square) : Renee - you asked me not to scrap these pictures, but how can I not? I want you to remember how much fun you had with your little sister. She looks up to you and loves playing with her big sister. Enjoy the moments when they happen; these times will be gone soon enough. Thank you for being so willing to play the little games she likes; no matter how silly you feel. Feb'08 (in the small square) Sisters are for keeps and forever true
Supplies : CS - The Paper Company & Bazzill(scraps from the Nov '07 kit), PP - BG, MME & Sassafrass Lass (from the April '07, June '07 & Nov '07 kits), Chipboard Letter - AC (also from the Nov '07 kit), Metal flowers - misc, Font - Donny's Hand (internet).
How about a sketch challenge this time around? I love working from sketches and seeing how people can interpret it in such different ways. For this challenge, create a layout based on my sketch. Feel free to turn it on it's side, change the number of photos, . . . whatever! Make it your own! Just as long as we can still tell you used the sketch as the base to your ideas. I've included a few samples below to get you started. Have fun!
