We're back! Without wrecking the car!!! (We had a slight accident in Scotland 10 years ago - so making it through 10 days without smashing the rental car was a big bonus! For those of you who don't know Ireland drives on the left hand side of the road and the roads are VERY narrow!!!)
Will and I went to Ireland for our 10 year anniversary and our 40th birthdays, which are coming up this fall. We were there for 10 days. We had beautiful weather. All in all it was a great trip, although it was too long away from the girls. So here are some highlights:
Kenmare Stone Circle, built during the Bronze Age (2,200 - 500 BC) This is the is the largest and best preserved in Ireland (I think!) Self timer photo!
Golfing at Dingle Golf Links on the Dingle Peninsula.
The western most point in Ireland on the Dingle Peninsula.
Dingle Peninsula - I don't have the guide book next to me so I can't tell you how old this is, but it is at least 1,000 years old. It is made without any mortar and it is completely water tight - after all these years!
Portal Tomb built during the New Stone Age about 1,000 years BEFORE the pyramids at Giza were built.
We drank a LOT of Guinness, which was fine by me as it has always been one of my favorites! The Brewery in Dublin is unbelievable! It's actually the #1 tourist attraction in Dublin. You get a bit of an idea from this photo and the one below what a scrapbookers paradise it is!
Here we are at the 360Bar at the top of the Guinness Brewery enjoying our free pint. That's downtown Dublin behind us!
